GLENDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College women's track and field saw multiple strong performances at the inaugural Gaucho indoor invitational this past weekend. Glendale Community College women's track and field was recently ranked 50th in the nation by the USTFCCCA organization.
Jai'dah Edwards set a new personal best in the women's 60 meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 9.36 seconds. Her performance saw her finish in 4th place in the event. Petra Onwumere, Mariah Cuff, and Yami Villegas-Martinez all competed in the women's 200 meter event, but failed to place in the top 10 for the event. Villegas-Martinez did finish in the top 10 for the women's pole vault with a 2.30 meter mark. Cuff finished in 8th for the women's long jump, with her best jump being at 4.91 meters. Eva Recio finished 4th in the women's 3000 meter event with a time of 12:20.30, and set a personal record in the 1 mile event with a time of 6:06.67, finishing in 10th for the event.
Glendale Community College women's track and field will be in Flagstaff for the NAU Tune Up Meet on Friday, February 20th before heading to the NJCAA Indoor Nationals on March 6th and 7th.
