MESA, Ariz. – The Glendale Community College women's soccer team won its third straight match to start the 2025 season on Saturday with a 4-1 road win at Mesa Community College.
The Gauchos took command of the match early, striking three times in the first 25 minutes. Jaidyn Rowles had the opener with a tap-in following a cross from Desirrae Camacho in the ninth minute. Seven minutes later it was Damaris Samora on the receiving end of a pass from Myla Clay for another close-range goal. Samora added her second goal of the night with a free kick in the 25th minute to give Glendale a comfortable 3-0 margin at halftime.
Coming out strong in the second half, Taylor Olness headed home a corner kick from April Ramos in the 57th minute to make it 4-0 and essentially put the match out of reach. Mesa was able to convert a penalty kick in the 75th minute to get on the board, but could get no closer.
Rowles finished with a team-high five shots, followed by Samora with four. Mayra Kruk was in goal into the second half, earning the win while making four saves. Grace Hurley came on later in the match and had one save.
Glendale heads to Tucson on Tuesday night for a matchup with Pima Community College at 5:45 p.m.
