Gauchos split with Scottsdale.

In game one, the Guachos fell to the Artichokes 4-1. Sophomore Priscilla Armendariz led things off in the circle for the Gauchos. Priscilla allowed 8 hits and 4 runs over 7 innings, striking out 3. The Artichokes starting pitcher allowed 5 hits and 1 run over 4 innings, striking out 2 and walking 2. Sophomore Hailey Martinez led the Gauchos with 2 hits in her 4 at bats from the leadoff position. Sophomore Hailey Chandler went 2 for 3 with a stolen base. Sophomore Taylor James led the Gauchos with 1 run batted in. The Gauchos were sure-handed in the field and didnt commit a single error. 

In game two, the Gauchos won in a walk-off fashion 5-4. The Artichokes took the lead in the top of the fourth with a homerun, scoring 2 runs to give the Artichokes a 4-2 advantage. At the bottom of the fifth inning, Freshmans Zerianna Gomez and Dani Chairez both singled to start off the innings. Zerianna scored off of Dani's hit and with help from an error committed by Scottsdale. At the bottom of the sixth inning, Sophomore Samantha Murray got on base from another error by Scottsdale. Sophomore Hailey Chandler then came up with a single and scored Sam to tie the game. With the game being tied at 4-4, Sophomore Chloe Saiz singled and started the 2-out rally for the Guachos. Sophomore Taylor James doubled, scoring Chloe to lead the Gauchos to Victory. Freshman Casey Evans pitched the last 3 innings for the Gauchos. Casey surrended 0 hits for the Artichokes and came away with the win.

Your Gauchos have a bye Saturday February 28th but will be back at home March 3rd against Paradise Valley.
