Men's Basketball Falls To Apaches

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College men's basketball fell to Cochise College last Saturday, 103-84. The loss moves the Gauchos to 11-4 on the season.

Stephan Miller led the Gauchos in scoring, finishing with 28 points and 9 rebounds on 11-of-20 from the field. Miller, a freshman from Liberty high school, also had 3 assists and a block in the contest. Kenny White (St. Mary's) finished with 18 points, 3 assists, and 3 steals for the game. Malaki Garnica (Brophy) contributed 12 points on 5-of-8 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. The Gauchos shot 43.8% from the field, and had 18 assists on 32 made field goals. Both teams shot 22 free throws for the contest, but the Apaches came away with 21 makes compared to the Gauchos 14. Glendale was outrebounded by Cochise 37-31, but the Gauchos only had 9 turnovers for the contest.

The Gauchos will return to ACCAC play this week on Wednesday, January 7, when they host Chandler-Gilbert Community College. The Coyotes currently sit at 8-7 overall, 0-4 in conference play. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
