Men's Basketball Fall to Matadors

GLENDALE, Ariz. - Glendale Community College men's basketball suffered its first loss of the season Thursday night, falling to Arizona Western College 107-73. With the loss, the Gauchos sit at 5-1 on the season.

Stephan Miller (Liberty) led the Gauchos in scoring for the contest, finishing with 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Kenny White (St. Mary's) contributed 15 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Malaki Garnica (Brophy) had 9 points in 14 minutes off the bench.

The Gauchos shot 38.9% from the field, 31% from beyond the arc and had 13 assists on 28 made field goals. Glendale was outrebounded by Arizona Western, 60-26. The Matadors had 2 more shot attempts than the Gauchos and had 5 players score in double-figures.

Glendale Community College men's basketball returns to action Saturday, November 15th, when they host Big Bend Community College out of Moses Lake, Washington. The Vikings participate in the Northwest Athletic Conference and currently sit at 1-0 on the season. Tip-off for Saturday's contest is scheduled for 4 p.m.
