Glendale Community College men's basketball never trailed and led by as many as 34 points in their victory Saturday afternoon, defeating South Mountain Community College 81-50. The win puts the Gauchos at 15-8 overall, 7-6 in the ACCAC. With 5 regular season games remaining the Gauchos currently sit in 3rd place, only one game behind second place. The win also gave Glendale the season series against South Mountain, beating them twice in three contests.

Jordan Kuac (Ironwood) led the way for the Gauchos with 31 points while shooting 50% from beyond the arc. Kuac also contributed 6 rebounds and had 5 steals. Davis Hester (Liberty) finished with 17 points on 6-of-12 from the field and 2-of-5 from beyond the arc. Hester also snagged 6 rebounds and had 1 assist. Lamont Johnson (Central) ended with 15 points and 8 rebounds along with 2 assists and 1 steal. Ty Gibbs (Shadow Ridge) contributed 10 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists with zero turnovers while playing the full 40 minutes. The Gauchos shot 42.4% from the field, 50% from beyond the arc and had 16 assists on 28 made field goals. Glendale outrebounded South Mountain 49-39, with the Gauchos' 12 offensive rebounds leading to 16 second chance points.

The Gauchos will finish off their 4-game road swing on Saturday, February 15th when they travel to Mesa Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 PM.
