Women’s Soccer Places Three on All-Region Teams
Nov 2, 2025

GLENDALE, Ariz. - The Glendale Community College women's soccer program had three players listed among the award recipients from the Region I postseason awards. Freshman midfielder/forward Damaris Samora was named to the First Team All-Region, while sophomore midfielders Taylor Olness and Jaidyn Rowles were each named to the Second Team.

Samora was the top offensive threat for the Gauchos on the season, finding the back of the net nine times and adding a pair of assists for a team-high 20 points on the season. Samora was the team leader in shots (55) and shots on goal (31), and three of her goals were game-winners.

Olness and Rowles had different roles out of the midfield, but each performed them well throughout the season and started all 15 matches for Glendale. Olness was often tasked as a deep-lying midfielder, disrupting the offensive flow for the opposition. She still managed to get forward into the attack often enough to contribute three goals and an assist on the year, taking 14 total shots with 10 of them on target. Rowles lined up on the outside and flew up and down the wings all year, providing five goals and three assists. She was second on the team to Samora with 39 total shots and 23 shots on goal.

In the first year under Head Coach Jeff Perry, Glendale finished with an overall record of 6-7-2 and made it to the postseason as the No. 4 seed in Region I Division II, falling 1-0 in a hard-fought battle on the road to No. 1 seed Pima Community College to close out the season.
